Pearl self released her first album ‘Salt’ in November 2019. Her second EP ‘Tracing’ was released on Cuculi Records in February 2024. The first single ‘The Wagon’ takes the listener into the sensory world of a February day spent drinking tea with a friend, telling stories of their lives as they watch the sun and rain outside the window of the wagon in which they sit. It’s a masterfully understated production, with Pearl’s sublime voice a constant anchor through gentle instrumental layers that oscillate gently between major and minor in a subtle echo of the changing weather, building to a quiet intensity that ebbs away again almost before it’s noticeable. As well as Pearl’s uke and piano, the EP also features boci on violin, Ebony Love on trumpet and Tom Campbell on percussion, sax and bass.
